1953

Establishment of the predecessor company, Omata Vacuum Machinery Research Center.

1955

Began manufacturing the oil rotary vacuum pump “MP-250”.

Established Showa Shinku Kikai (Showa Vacuum Machinery) Co., Ltd.

1960

Successfully developed the first vacuum evaporation equipment for quartz crystal.

1961

Successfully developed the first vacuum evaporation equipment for optical devices.

1967

Received the Award for Excellence at the industrial exhibition from Kanagawa Prefecture for the oil rotary pump “MP-250”.

1971

Moved the head office and factory to Ohnodai, Sagamihara City.

Successfully developed the “SC-6SA” fully automatic vacuum evaporation equipment for adjusting frequency of quartz crystal.

Made the machine processing division independent by establishing Showa Seiko Co., Ltd.
Developed multilayer vacuum evaporation equipment for the optical parts market.

1978

Developed fully automatic vacuum evaporation equipment for adjusting the frequency of quartz watches.
Concluded a cooperative operations contract with Nihon Shinku Gijutsu Co., Ltd. (ULVAC, lnc.) for the primary purpose of technical cooperation.
Changed the name of Showa Shinku Kikai (Showa Vacuum Machinery) Co., Ltd. to Showa Shinku Co., Ltd.

1979

Completed a full model change of the “SGC-22SA” multilayer evaporation equipment for optical devices.

Constructed the Showa Shinku Kamimizo Factory (740 m2) at Kamimizo, Sagamihara City.

The “SFC-71M” vacuum evaporation equipment for adjusting the frequency of MCFs received the first Kanagawa Industrial Technology Development Award grand prize.

1986年

Recognized as an official Kanagawa Prefecture factory.
Completed the Ohnodai Factory Annex.
Kunimasa Omata took office as president.

Recognized as a model factory by the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency.

1994

The “SRC-01” mini-in-line high-frequency, high precision quartz adjustment equipment received the 11th Kanagawa Industrial Technology Development Award Encouragement Prize.

1995

Successfully developed the “SPH-2500” sputtering equipment for base electrode films on quartz crystals.

1996

Successfully developed the “SRM-2111C” in-line quartz frequency adjustment equipment for MCFs.

1997

Changed the kanji spelling of the company name (Showa Shinku Co., Ltd.).
The cooperative operations contract with Nihon Shinku Gijutsu Co., Ltd. (ULVAC Inc.) for the primary purpose of technical cooperation was terminated, and a new business agreement was concluded regarding sales activities, advertising, and exhibition participation in the People’s Republic of China.

2000

The company’s shares were listed on the JASDAQ (over-the-counter) market.

Acquired the ISO9001:2000 Certification for all business locations.

2002

Established Showa Shinku Machinery (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China.
Established Sansei-Showa Co., Ltd. USA, in Ohio, USA.

2003

Established Showa Shinku Machinery Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China.
Successfully developed the “SEC-08C” vacuum coater for organic EL element evaluation.

2004

Constructed the Sagamihara Factory.
Established SHOWA PROCESS TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., a research subsidiary for optical thin films.C124
Renovated the Ohnodai Factory Annex and moved the sales office to a new building on the factory grounds.

2005

Moved head office to Sagamihara Factory.
Acquired the ISO14001:2004 Certification.

Acquired all stocks in FEC CORPORATION to make it a subsidiary.

The 50th anniversary of establishment ceremony was held in Tokyo Disneyland.

The frequency adjustment equipment for quartz devices was recognized as “Outstanding industrial technology in nine prefectures and cities”.

Established Hokuriku Service Center.

Developed ALD equipment for optical thin films “Genesis-AR Series”
and sputtering equipment for optical thin films “AXIS-Series”.

2018

Sold Ohnodai Parts Center.
Established Tohoku Service Center.
Selected as “The Driving Company for the regional future” by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

2020

Constructed the R&D Building (1,486m²) in Sagamihara Factory.
